My Job.

Currently I ply my trade as a Panel Beater, repairing the cars of those who cannot drive, and those who got in the way of people that cannot drive.  The work is often interesting and rewarding.  My speciality is Major Smash.  These jobs come about when people who cannot drive actually manage to succeed at something in their pathetic lives, and give people travelling along the road something interesting to view whilst passing the accident scene.   With our governments maniacal attitude towards reduction of our road toll by reducing speed via filling their coffers by placing speed camera's everywhere, even trying to hide them...hmm must be one of my hobby horses.  Realistically, they could simply invest some money and teach these idiots how to drive, or better yet remove their licences.  This be the better option I reckon, there is so much to gain....lower road congestion (I would get to work faster), less idiots on the road (I wouldn't be stressed when I got to work), more people on public transport (lower fares, more jobs) and lower insurance premiums (the risk is lower)...damm where was I ????

Seriously, I actually hate being a Panel Beater.  I despise the small jobs, as I find it boring just knocking out dents.  I'd sooner tackle something bent off its head, so I can spend a few days on it, racking my brains out trying to figure out how its actually bent and getting it right.   Proof of this is the car I purchased for my dearest mother which was fairly heavily damaged click HERE to see what I mean.

More recently I took the plunge and opened my own workshop (03 Nov 2004).  Whilst small, I have found a new lease on my trade, doing mostly restoration, and historic smash.   Have already picked up a few trophies, so my name is getting around.  Maybe soon i may expand and take on an apprentice.

Water Skiing

This is something I had the oppurtunity to learn whilst on an AAL Christmas camp many many moons ago.  I started out on doubles, but never really got to do much as we didn't have our own boat.  Just after I turned 18, dad purchased his own boat, a 17 foot Swiftcraft Seagull II.  Ok, it was a half cab, but it was adequatley powered for novice skiers, and dad could also go out on the bay fishing.  With this came our introduction to knee-boarding, which my little brother is pretty good at these days.  It was here I had my first introduction to the Slalom.  After much bad advice I eventually figured out how to get going on it, and started to learn.  Eventually Dad sold the boat for the cash, and we replaced it several years later with a 14 Foot Swiftcraft Stilleto with a 115hp Merc on the back.  This little baby really gets up and boogies, quicker than most off the shelf V8 boats, and quicker off the mark than anything else I've seen.  We are in our 3rd season with this one and we do plenty.  My slalom has really improved a lot, and can now put enough pressure on to alter boat direction.   Skiing is something that my family really enjoys,  on the few times mum comes along she has a ball watching our efforts as we try harder and go splatt.  Generally you can find us on Lake Eildon before xmass and on the Mighty Murray River after, as the lake level drops.  The last two seasons have seen us miss only one weekend's skiing between Australia Day long weekend (jan 26th) and Easter....We ALWAYS stay home for mums birthday.  Normally when we go its just three of us,  Dad, Bro and myself.  Dad's pretty keen and the amount he will do in a day makes most 50yo's look pale and insignificant.
